Which calculator do you need?
For tracking hours on a timesheet, the hours calculator handles start and end times with break deductions and works across midnight for overnight shifts. If you need the number of business days between two dates (excluding weekends and holidays), use the work days calculator. It can also add a set number of work days to a start date to find a deadline.
The days between dates calculator counts total calendar days, weeks, and months between any two dates. The age calculator breaks that down further into years, months, and days from a birth date, with zodiac signs and life milestones included.
Common questions about date and time calculations
How do I calculate work days between two dates?
Enter your start and end dates in the work days calculator. It automatically excludes Saturdays and Sundays from the count. For example, March 3 to March 14, 2026 is 12 calendar days but only 10 business days. You can also add work days to a date to find project deadlines or delivery estimates.
Does the hours calculator handle overnight shifts?
Yes. If your end time is earlier than your start time, the calculator assumes you worked through midnight. A shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM with a 30-minute break calculates to 8 hours. It also converts the total into decimal hours (8.0) for payroll systems that need that format.
How is age calculated in months and days?
The age calculator counts complete years first, then complete months, then remaining days. Someone born on January 15, 1990 would be 36 years, 2 months, and 0 days on March 15, 2026. Leap years are handled correctly, so February 29 birthdays show accurate results in non-leap years.
